The New Debt Collection Rules Checklist

Share

The Consumer Financial Protection Board (CFPB) recently published new debt collection rules exclusively for debt collectors. Those new rules, which are slated to go into effect on October 30, 2021, include these do’s and don’ts:

  • Do retain records for three years
  • Don’t call before 8am or after 9pm
  • Do make sure consumers can easily opt out of emails
  • Don’t text consumers without their consent

Do you and your team know all the rules? Don’t be left unprepared. Use our checklist and keep it handy for easy, quick reference.
